12:00 NOON, Wednesday, December 17, 2014
As of NOON there are some areas of light snow or rain in western Colorado and in eastern Colorado mainly south of Colorado Springs. As the afternoon progresses into evening, there is likely to be more coverage of light snow with some light accumulations. The chance for accumulation is very small north of Lyons-DIA line, but a little better to the south. Even where there is accumulation, it should be pretty light. Expect 0-1 inch in the Boulder-Denver and Colorado Springs areas, and maybe a couple inches around the Palmer Divide and up in Nederland.
Christmas is still too far off for a confident forecast. But both major medium range numerical models suggest that a North Pacific storm from the west and polar cold front from the north will impact the Colorado-Wyoming area on Dec 25-26. I will be watching this and updating.
