Potential for significant snow late Monday into Tuesday

11:30 AM MST, Saturday, November 23, 2019

For those planning travels early next week for the holiday, there is potential for a significant snowfall between late Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, mainly from the Denver area northward. Details of the storm are still coming together, but early indications are that there is potential for 6-12 inches and a rapid onset of winter travel conditions Monday evening. I will update tomorrow.

Hey Mat! As usual, thank you for the great forecast. How are you? Happy Thanksgiving week! Hope you guys are doing well.

I’m leaving tomorrow afternoon for a drive down to Phoenix for the week. But I’m stopping first in Colorado Springs and then Pagosa Springs on the way. I am leaving tomorrow afternoon to drive to Colorado Springs. I will try to get out soon enough to miss the traffic snarls from the snow tomorrow evening going to Denver. But then the Tues morning I’m leaving for Pagosa Springs. It looks like they will not get as much snow, so hopefully the roads will be OK. On Wednesday I’ll be driving down to Phoenix. I imagine those roads should be fine by then.

If you have any thoughts or advice, it would be welcome.

Otherwise, have a great week. I hope you get to have some good relaxation time.

    Take care, Lon

Lon- The southern part of the state will see less impacts, but there may still be some winter driving conditions in the San Juans, especially at and west of the passes. If you can, go as far south as you can before heading west.
